Executive Director Message - Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Brent Erickson

On Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th downtown Camas will transform into the Old West for Camas Days 2008: themed “Giddy Up Camas”! Camas Days is the largest annual festival in East County, held in the heart of downtown Camas for over 30 years. This event is made possible by the title sponsorship by Nies Insurance and Liberty Northwest. This year the festival will host a FULL SIZED mechanical bull, bucking all day Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm (by Lacamas Community Credit Union) and the block party style Wine & Microbrew Street titled: “A Toast of Camas”. Enjoy Live Blue Grass and Classic Rock from 5 – 11 p.m. as well as local wines, brews and mikes hard lemonade.

There is something for everyone and every age at Camas Days. Families can participate in the Kids Parade on Friday, or climb the rock wall and bounce off the walls in our inflatable play land: “Kids Street” sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank. Don’t miss “Food Street” by Waste Connections, where you can ge read more ...

There are events happening just about every weekend. The big ones are Camas Days and Washougalfest. They both take place on the weekend beginning Friday, July 25. I plan to go to both! I’ll be volunteering to pour wine again at Camas days, so stop by and see me there. I’m looking forward to the first Washougalfest ever. There is another concert at the Port featuring Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts on July 13. The Port’s web site is also really useful for finding out what’s goi read more ...
